Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 June 2026

Lore (“Lore,” “we,” “us”) is a private family archive operated by Buckley Studios. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Lore is built to be private by default: your memories are shared only with the family members you invite, and we do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Information we collect

Lore is free, so we don’t collect payment or financial information.

How we use information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your family’s content to serve advertising.

AI & automated processing

To help organize your archive, we use AI to suggest dates, occasions, tags, and to transcribe audio. We send the relevant Content to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to generate these suggestions for your family. This Content is not used to train Anthropic’s models or any general-purpose AI, and it is not retained by the provider for their own purposes. Suggestions are reviewable, and a person confirms them before they’re published.

How your content is shared

Content you add to a family is visible to the members of that family, according to their roles. If you add content to more than one family, each family receives its own copy. Content is not public and is not shared outside the families you choose.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate Lore. They process data on our behalf under agreements that restrict their use of it:

These providers may process and store data in the United States. We may update this list as Lore evolves and will keep this page current.

Data retention

We keep your content and account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete content you’ve added, and you can request deletion of your account and associated personal data (see below).

Your choices & rights

Children

Lore is intended for adults to use, including to preserve memories of children in their family. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to create an account. Adults are responsible for the content they add about minors in their family. If you believe a child has created an account, or you want content about a minor removed, contact us through the support form and we’ll address it promptly.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including access controls that enforce family-level privacy. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll revise the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app or by email.
